Codes and conventions of a film magazine

Masthead- Features on all magazine covers, usually at the top of the page and indicates which magazine it is. Our's is called "Film & Television". It is in large and bold text at the top right hand side of the page to catch the viewer's attention. We also used the colours white, blue and red to connotate the British flag as we have created an independent British film magazine.
Image- The image should reflect the audience and the styles of the magazine. The main image is usually mid-shot and should reflect what the film is featuring. This usually involved the main actor or actors that feature within the film.

This is our main image which features some characters which will feature in our film, we cropped the image down to fit more of a mid shot before we put it on our magazine front cover.

'Buzzwords'- These involve words such as 'free' and exclusive' which capture the reader's attention and make them want to buy the magazine. We have used the 'buzzword' 'EXCLUSIVE' on our magazine front cover in bright red bold large letters which makes it stand out from the rest. Telling the audience the interview of the cast and director from LOST will be exclusive to them if they buy this magazine as they won't see it in any other
